The Tree Project
The project is about growing plants within virtual environments, where their growth conditions and appearance are influenced by the language and actions of human participants. Positive words and phrases are anticipated to foster healthier plant growth, while negative language may hinder the plants’ development. By observing the state of the plants within this virtual space, users are provided with visual feedback on the impact of their words and activities. This prompts reflection on the broader implications of human behavior and its effects on the environment and other living beings.
Storyboard

The audience choose the plant they want
The plant is planted in the
cyber space of choice
Input are taken from the microphones in the space
Plants in the cyber space will grow according to the collection of all inputs from all people who have been to the space
Presentation

The trees and plants in the cyber space can be viewed through screen from any device. A further speculative way of view is by building blobs with transparent screens that show both reality and cyber spaces. These blobs can also work as installation art or public social and relaxing spaces in the city.

Modeling
A sprout appears when the project is opened. It will change into a dying sprout, or a tree, with leaves and then flowers, according to the input from the environment.

Interface
The limit of current technology makes the project a more speculative than real project. Interface is thus designed with the input by buttons on the screen. The plant in AR space responds to human language used in the environment. The heart and thumb down represents positive and negative languages and responses. By interacting with the buttons, which symbolize the choice of phrase and language, real-time reaction can be seen
on the plant.

"thumb down" represents negative inputs from environment

"heart" represents positive inputs from environment
